In 2018, my high school’s communications staff suggested I enter my county’s first “I Voted” sticker contest. I took advantage of the new city style guide, selecting Proxima Nova. Sometimes all a design needs is a 90º turn! 2020 Process: After settling on the Hill building as the focal point of the design, I set the building on different sides of the sticker scaled in several different ways. Just a little bit of color study. I knew that not all of these were going to work, but I thought I'd at least try. I enjoy the process almost as much as the final result! The county liked the design so much that they made it into buttons! A look at the sticker on election day Roman Mars even got ahold of it! And some of my childhood idols sported it Duke basketball coaches and 2010 national champions Nolan Smith and Jon Scheyer with the Durham sticker.
